Proposed Strategic Plan Community Input

The City of Frankfort Board of Commissioners and staff have developed a draft five year strategic plan, which will guide the work of the city. This plan consists of four areas of strategic focus that are the foundations for goals and activites the city will work toward. These focus areas and subsequent strategies and activities are derived from previous community engagement efforts and plans, including On The Table, the Downtown Master Plan, the Arts and Culture Master Plan, and others. This strategic plan will give focus and direction to achieving the priorities outlined in these plans. To develop this strategic plan, the Board of Commissioners and City Leadership Staff have undergone several sessions of visioning, SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis, previous plan review, and group discussions. Background information from this process can be found in the document on the right side of this page.

Now, it's time for our community to weigh in. The city wants to hear from you about how to prioritize the four main areas of focus and the goals and strategies the city has outlined for each. All proposed areas of focus and their strategies listed in this survey will be completed, but this input will be used to create annual work plans for staff based on which areas are high priority for the community.

This strategic plan will be a guide for the entire city, and we want the community to be part of its success, too. As you're giving input on the plan, please think about activities you and/or your organization could also complete that would align with a strategic focus area and contribute to the overall success of the plan. Submit your ideas on the final question of this survey, and quarterly public meetings will be scheduled to check in on our collective progress.
