Special Capital Design Guidelines

The City of Frankfort Planning & Community Development Department will soon retain the services of a consultant to assist us with an update to the design guidelines for the Special Capital Zoning District, which includes most of South Frankfort. This endeavor will complete a multi-year project that was initiated in 2014 - to develop and legally adopt three sets of design guidelines, one for each historic zone's unique character and significance.

The Special Historic and Central Business historic zoning districts received their new design guidelines in 2016 and 2018, respectively. The new Special Capital design guidelines publication is intended to be a helpful resource for property owners and residents in South Frankfort. Like its predecessors, it will be produced in color and include photos and illustrations.

We are very interested in hearing from property owners and residents in the district to help us develop a user-friendly set of guidelines that we hope will be easily understood and widely supported. We would be very appreciative if you would help us to kick off our project by completing this quick survey.
