Blanton's Landing Feasibility Study
As part of The Downtown Master Plan, Frankfort residents identified engagement with the riverfront as one of the top priorities for Frankfort’s growth. As part of our work to investigate possibilities for making these desires a reality, the City of Frankfort began work with a consultant team in July 2020 to create this feasibility study to put us one BIG step closer to having a plan for riverfront facilities that will lead to actual development. These facilities would be located on the south riverfront, and will span the properties from the current Blanton’s Landing just past the Capital Avenue Bridge, down to the end of Ann Street with multiple connections back to land via a terrace walkway. The goal is to create riverfront development that provides space for events, recreation, water access, and future private businesses such as restaurants. The hope is to have a facility that combines a connection to the river with a floating dock that houses amenities for all interests, while connecting that facility back to the park facilities on Blanton's Landing and all of the resources nearby in historic Downtown Frankfort.
